Some cool tips and tricks to get around the art club! By: Chris Have you ever considered joining the art club?
Well, if you have, we have a story for you about all the awesome things that the students and teachers of the art club do and talk about. You could learn about what some people in the art club have learned. And what they do and enjoy about the art club. Maybe afterward you would consider joining, but if you ever need help or have more questions, you can ask Mrs. Wagner the mentor who is running the club.

An inside look on the MCC to find out: Is it worth joining? By: Nevin Everybody likes Minecraft! It’s an open world sandbox game where you can create anything!
But does everybody like the Minecraft Creators Club? Is it worth joining, and what are the benefits if I do choose to join? By: Rhys Did you know that LANV doesn’t have any sports teams? However, you’d be surprised by how many LANV students play sports. Some participate in sports through a nearby school, and others compete individually. I interviewed five of these talented students, and now I get to introduce them to you.
By: Nathaniel M. Hey LANV students! Do you want to get to know the people in your school better? Do you like to answer fun, interesting, and overall hilarious surveys? Well, this is your chance! Today, we're focusing on what the people in school like. Not just students, but mentors and staff are welcome as well!
These are the results from the surveys you guys answered! Which one was the most surprising answer to you? By Ethan L. On August 26th, 2022, a group of LANV students attended a Las Vegas Aviators game. These students experienced many electrifying events. With all this action, why not go? Many of the students and families that attended enjoyed the game. Although the Aviators lost 8-3 to the Sugar-Land Space Cowboys, those who attended didn’t let the loss spoil their fun. “Live sporting events are super fun, and if it happened again I would go, and would encourage others to go,” said Sebastian R. (10th) in an interview. “It’s a great experience, even if you lose.” Several people said that they enjoyed just talking with people as much, if not more than actually being at the game. In this aspect, even if you lose, you still win. ![]() There were two main criticisms of the event; the first, of course, was that the home team lost. The second was that there weren’t enough students who attended. There were many highlights during this game. There were home runs by both teams, a decent amount of points, and many thrilling runs. However, some stood out above the others. There was a foul ball hit that was caught only 2 rows back of the LANV section. There was a home run that landed in the pool, which people ran out of while the ball was coming towards them. There is never a shortage of entertainment when attending an Aviators game. “I would highly recommend going to these games!” Sebastian later said. “The stadium is very nice and the environment is awesome! Live sporting events are always fun to attend, and getting the chance to attend one with fellow students and Mr. Martinez makes them even better! If more students would have signed-up and come to the game it would have been even better!” There weren’t a lot of people that attended, roughly 20 including families. The goal for the next game is to get about 50 people to attend. ![]() “We’re in the process of planning one for the springtime,” Said Dominic Martinez, when asked if there were currently plans to attend another Aviators game. “Next season will start when our school year is ending, so we’ll probably try to get one in April.” There are many reasons to attend one of these games, even if you aren’t a sports fan. You never know what you will see with the Aviators, and are always in for a treat! Even if you don’t want to watch the game, just go to hang out with your friends and meet new people. With all these things to entertain you, why wouldn’t you want to go? Best and Worst Food (and Places) of LANVBy: Maya L., Mary R. From foam dishes to cuisine, LANV Ligers stepped up to the plate to tell us their worst and best food dishes that they have tried! As a species, we categorize our food into two main categories, comfort and cuisine. Even though we order our food according to preference, we don’t always get what we expect. We, as students, mentors, and staff, have one thing in common, our desire to quench our cravings. Be it junk or superfoods, we make associations with our meals. When most people think of popcorn, they think of entertainment. What’s a food you associate with entertainment? From our surveys, we can conclude that everyone loves fast food. Is it because we have somewhere to go or is it out of convenience? Does the way we eat have an affect on our lives, or is it a tradition? Time has many things to do with it and, in a way, traditions have an impact on how we eat. From holiday meals to birthday breakfasts, subtle traditions give us cravings around different times of the year. I look forward to fall for pumpkin spice lattes and apple pies! What are some of your favorite seasonal foods, or things you’ve made into a tradition? Often, in our quick-paced society, people don’t have the time to cook for themselves, or they’re afraid to even try. Though it might turn out like something from Nailed It on Netflix, it could end up being just as good as something on Chopped from Food Network. ![]() Danika H., a 10th grader at LANV, has found an interesting place in Cedar City, Utah as well as Las Vegas, Nevada. She went to a dine-in Mexican restaurant in Cedar City. It was late at night, but her family was coming back from a trip and needed a quick bite to eat. Danika ordered a taco and thought nothing of it. Upon receiving her food, she got her taco on a foam plate with runny sour cream. It was spoiled and the dinner was ruined. However, while she may have had a bad experience in Cedar City, she loves the Pizza Factory in Las Vegas, Nevada. “I go there a lot,” she says. Her family loves the place, and they even have customizable pizza’s to order! If you are ever in town, you should head on down and grab a pie! Across the U.S., there are many wonderful places to eat. Some of the best memories come from pit stops along the road. Most of the students, mentors, and staff can agree we all love fast food. Even though we fantasize about cuisine, and fancy restaurants, the best memories are made around a table where a person can laugh, relax, and act like themselves.
