Get to know some of the student ambassadors and learn what they do!By: Delaney What do ambassadors do? Well that’s what you’ll learn about in this article! The ambassadors do many things, like plan events, they read and discuss a book every other week. As an ambassador you get to become a better person, you learn how to be a leader and how to best interact with others, overall it helps you grow as a person, and become more outgoing! ![]() We have many ambassadors from grades 8-12. They’re the ones who plan all of the fun activities we do every other week! Not only do they just plan the activities but also things like spirit week, singing grams, and the monthly raffle! They also spend each semester planning the school dances, we plan pretty much everything for them! And the ambassadors get to read some really cool books that help them grow and become better leaders and friends, they become better because they learn how to better communicate with others. Being an ambassador isn’t all about planning and reading, it’s also about making friends and growing closer to others, as and ambassador they get the opportunity to lead others through events while meeting a lot of new people at the same time! Amberly has made many new friendships as an ambassador, here’s what she said: “Me and Audrey became better friends now that we work one on one for events." So by working together Amberly and Audrey (both 11th graders) have been able to come closer and be better friends because of the time they get to spend with each other and getting to know each other! As an ambassador you learn a lot of new things, life skills, how to communicate, the best ways to talk to other students based on things like body language. The biggest lesson Sebastian (10th) has learned as an ambassador is: “I would call short-notice leadership. Sometimes, whether it be plans falling through, weather, or even tech issues, events and activities need to be cancelled, moved, or redesigned. I have experienced and been working on a couple of these events myself when changes needed to be made. I feel that working through these situations has helped me get a better grasp of how to work in a leadership/planning position when time is of the essence. Time management and teamwork all combine to work out of the situation. By being put in these situations, I believe that I have learned a lot about short-notice leadership.” Along with Sebastian I think many others have learned things similar, because behind the scenes is a lot different but definitely rewarding Overall as an ambassador you gain so much, knowledge, insight, skill, friends, and anything else you make from it. You also have a ton of fun! Being an ambassador is so much fun, I personally have grown so much of it in the last 3 years I’ve been one. I would highly suggest becoming one next school year!
