Onscreen the writers were given two prompts to write a story on. Once everyone had their story prompt chosen, they began to write about it. About 15 minutes was given to the students to write their story inspired by the prompt. They wrote poems, short stories, adventures, haikus and stories inspired from the very depths of their creativity. The prompts were:
When it came time to share, everyone who wrote a story and wanted to share raised their hand and shared when called upon. The stories that were shared were very creative and inspiring. The most popular one by far was written by a LANV 8th grader. She wrote a funny short superhero story about Bob the broccoli man, Lettuce man, and Super Potato man. Her story was very funny and everyone loved it. The stories that were more commonly shared were poems. A lot of the people who shared wrote poems on the plant/object human life cycle prompt, and the poems that were shared were very nice, and inspirational. Creative writing is an excellent way to express yourself, and dramatize your ideas. At this last creative writing event many of the students wrote and shared their work to the audience. The work shared that night was sometimes funny, thoughtful, imaginative, and all of them, very creative. The event was a nice little break from the school and stress and you should consider attending an online event in the future. Everyone had a ton of fun, talked, and everyone got to know each other just a little better. It might not be another creative writing event but I guarantee that it will be just as fun if not better.
